>7 YEARS SHELF LIFE GTP ISSUE 6.6.2024

GTP accepts an expiration shelf life of approximately 7-8 years. Therefore, if a 2122 expiration date is entered, it will revert to the year 1930. IC routinely corrects brushes and curlers in GTP that exhibit this problem. We have missed some orders and are currently validating customer claims. An email from Mike, which provides a clearer explanation, is attached.

I've also spoken with Mike in Inventory Control (IC); he's aware of this issue. Recently, Chuck collaborated with Danielle to update the dates in SAP. Brushes and eyelash curlers have a long shelf life, with an expiration date set for the year 2122. However, Danielle entered the expiration date as 2030 in the batch information. This adjustment was made because the Goods to Person (GTP) system only accepts a 7-8 year expiration shelf life. Entering 2122 would cause the system to default to 1930. IC frequently corrects such discrepancies in GTP, as flagged by wave planning, although this particular case may have been overlooked.

Once Danielle updates the batch lot information in SAP, it propagates to the BY system, which now displays the correct information. However, this specific order seems to have been missed by IC. I inquired about a preventive measure to avoid such issues, but Mike indicated there's none that he knows of. He suggested it might be a discrepancy between GTP and BY systems. IC routinely adjusts entries uploaded from Ariba and SAP to BY. Mike also mentioned that he's unaware of any oversight or correction of information uploaded from Ariba to SAP. Ariba is the system that transfers batch information from vendors to SAP. I trust this information is useful.
